From A to Z

Excellent story with some seriously amazing twists. When I first started the story I thought it was good but not really different from most time travel. But the deeper you go the more you are pulled in. It's not till near the end you realize just how much crap Tony has gone through in both timelines and the sacrifices he makes to ensure that this time they win. The scene in front of the committee where Steve is justifying his actions and they want Tony view on the Winter Soldier is just heart wrenching. He is trying so hard to be cool and unaffected but this time he has support, he has Pepper, he has people to tell him his reaction is normal and Steve was wrong. The author includes both versions of the timeline in each chapter you get A and Z. Even though time pushes many things to happen as before the changes in the people and their reactions thanks to Tony's intervention is just amazing. Strange was right he was the only one who could do this and he did one hell of a job.

Years at War Series by eristarisis
Part 1: Triwizard Warfare

Het Harry/Hermione, Harry/Fleur

Excellent1st of three in the series. There is action galore and beginning in the 2nd story sex. The characters are well fleshed out and behavior fits the world they belong in. That said they are also the most depressingly sad stories I have willingly read. I usually try to stay away from unless I am sure they have a happy ending. This one has a strange optimistic ending. It is a true depiction of war, good guys lose as often as they win, poor Harry never catches a break. That said this author is very, very good and makes no bones about writing a story where everyone dies. Well not everyone but close. It is a story about child soldiers doing the work that the adults failed at. About loss, betrayal, that forgiving an enemy can lead to a knife in your back and how sometimes love is just not enough. Good intentions can lead to bad consequences and sometimes your temper can be your own downfall. while they may not be my favorite type of story, they are some of the best I have read.

Syrgja (Loki/Natasha)

Syrgja by Lady Charity
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8514738/1/Syrgja

Excellent story but I have to admit the torture scenes can be too graphic for some people. Luckily you can tell where there is a flashback.  The story take place three years after Avengers when Shield finds Thor and a broken Loki in a desolate area of Norway. Loki was captured by the Chitauri and kept prisoner for a 1000 years and Thanos is after him and the Gauntlet Gems. It takes all of Asgard and the Avengers to stop Thanos. But it takes someone special to save Loki.

Poor Loki, there is a lot of thumping on him. The author delights in everything looking better then bam another hit.  The description of war is brutal, heartbreaking, and somehow glorious. This is a story well worth rereading. Just a heads up there is a major character death but it fits so well in the story.

Orestes (Tony & Loki)

(The middle picture of Loki as a dragon on the Washington monument is done by the author)

Awesome story, epic length, great characterization and one of the best descriptions of a war's effect on people that I have ever read. In this story Loki is not pulled from the Void by Thanos and instead spends seven years existing in hell before literally falling at the feet of Tony Stark. Tony watches unable to save the figure falling through the sky through the roof of his house and expects to find a dead body. Instead he sees a skin covered skeleton clothed in rags impaled with glass covered in blood but still alive. He realizes looking into blank eyes that the person has withdrawn mentally. He decides to honor what Yinsen did for him. The author takes the events in the Marvel movies and changes them in a way to be believable. Some events still happen just to different people and for different reasons. Without the invasion of New York Thor never comes back and it is Loki that in the end joins the Avengers.
Loki has becomes so dependent on the one man that he feels that he can trust that when he almost loses him decides to make sure that never happens. The consequences of those actions are far reaching. Events build up to the invasion by Thanos and the author concentrates more on the people and their reaction to impending war then on the action itself. However don't worry there is much action, angst, drama, misunderstandings, stupidity, pride and a bond of friendship that will survive anything even immortality. A warning there are major character deaths that had me crying but in the real world you lose people in a war. I cannot recommend this story enough. I started it and could not stop finishing it in 2 1/2 days mainly because I did nothing else
