Mischief's Heir

Mischief’s Heir Series by mad_fairy

Excellent set of stories I love how one small change can have a large cascading effect. In this case Harry prays to Loki the summer between 1st and 2nd year after being locked up and is answered. This begins a change of events that leads to the stars. It not only affects Harry but Loki as well. Each story is well plotted moving the characters along without making them too OOC. There are different pairings due to the different circumstances and Dumbledore is out maneuvered with ease by the trickster god. There is no character bashing just some characters that are being more fleshed out with better potential. Each story is funny with just enough drama to keep it real. I love what happened with Hermione because really she was that pushy. She shows actual development into a full 3d character with flaws as well as virtues. Dumbledore’s reaction to the “rescue” of Tom Riddle is funny. Even more hilarious is the reaction of Shield, Tony, and Peggy Carter. Thanks to the Unspeakables trying to keep the muggles busy while moving planets Captain America is found 20 years early, then comes the Winter Soldier. There is even a nod to the Avengers movie when Loki invades earth and Shield is sure the wizards are back. Luckily his wards have been looking for him and send Thor to rescue him. The Avengers have no idea what is happening and the ending is just perfect.  An enjoyable set of stories I hope the author comes back to show us their lives on the new planet.

The World They Made (Gen)

The World They Made by SharonH

This is not my usual story since I am not too fond of zombies in stories or film that being said this is a very good story. The Initiative in all their collective intelligence released a virus that makes humans into zombies. Not content with that they have managed to release it in several dimensions. It is up to the New Watchers Council to gather the survivors together. It seems that all of the demons have disappeared so there is only one enemy. With a combination of Willow's magic and several seers they are able to pinpoint pockets of survivors and bring them together. Including several neighboring dimensions that are collapsing. I like that author is not trying to rescue everybody in several scenes you realize that the zombies they are fighting are main characters from that fandom. People die, some come back but it is basically a story of the survival of the human species and the effort it takes to make a group of strangers work together.

Child of the Storm (Gen)

Child of the Storm by Nimbus Llewelyn

Great story and one idea that I have not seen before. When attacked by the Dementors Harry lets loose a magical cry for help. One that reaches the ear of an uncle he knows nothing about. Loki realizes that the time for secrets is at end and awakens Thor's memory of his FIRST banishment. When he was born into a mortal body by the name of James Potter. Thor rushes to save his son and the world takes a sharp turn to the left. With ancient enemies on one side and a horde of super allies on the other there is a major storm brewing for Midgard and its allies. The author pulls in characters from all over and ties them neatly to the main characters. Harry has to deal not only with suddenly having his father back but the fact that he is now Asgard royalty, a friend to the Avengers and related by family friendship and blood to other major characters. I love the way Loki is portrayed in this story showing his attempt at redemption, feelings for Sif, and his family. The scene showing just how much he is affected by dark magic is absolutely brilliant.

Journeyverse (Xander)

I am putting this series of stories first because it is my all time favorite. Xander has always been one of my favorite characters and this series showcases the butterfly effect to perfection. There are so many crossovers that it is hard to pinpoint my favorite but I got to a admit seeing him deal with Faith's father was hilarious. While Tenhawk started the series and maintains it there are other artists that contribute. You can download the whole series in a zip file. There are 140 stories at this time and not all are complete but even those are excellent. The writing is excellent, the action is not only intense it is most important believable. The crossovers are done seamlessly with distorting the characters.
